Digipak Draft

How I created my Digipak

First of all I started with initial photos I took at my filming locations and stills from my video to help create a base for the digipak its self, I used a photo from the lyrics analysis i created for the disk for the music video as the lyrics on the image link with the music video.

Secondly I started adding the text, i chose to do all the text in black and white and handwritten to resume the continuity within the music video, I did this by handwriting what i wanted onto a piece pf paper and the scanning it in and placing it onto my digipak using the magic wand tool (step by step on how i did this below)

After adding the text I also added logos such as the record label and the barcode to fit the conventions of a digipak

After looking at the above digipak I realised there was something missing therefore I decided to add a beige colour to the background of my cd/dvd compartment, I chose this colour so it would fit with my overall colour scheme.

Drawing/Animation Ideas

For my music video I would like to incorporate a small element of animation, this would include hand drawn drawings in my video and making them move. Below is a range of drawings I have drawn and scanned into the computer I would like to include in my video as I feel like these fit perfectly with the theme and atmosphere of my chosen song.

Making these move will be a bit of a challenge and would be very time consuming however I will go about this by converting them into png files like I have done with the lyrics and like I have done on my ancillary texts. I will make them move by changing their position every frame so they are on a continuous loop of moving. I would like to make the arrow move around the screen and make things like the hearts beat, the stars twinkle, and the broken heart break and split even more, and the rain fall.

Existing videos which include elements of animation like these are listed below;

My First Draft

For my first draft I decided to experiment with the lyrics and how they would be displayed therefore there are a range of ideas shown within this and I will be obtaining audience feedback. There are also some shots which are incomplete due to me planning on filming in new york and over the christmas holidays, however I am happy with this first draft.

Lyric Style Influences and My Handwritten Lyrics

Anastasia Tasou

As I will be writing the lyrics of the song over the top of my footage I have decided to write them in a similar style to 22 year old UK freelance artist Anastasia Tasou. Tasou creates art which links to her thoughts and feelings therefore I would like to incorporate this within my video to link with the personal and emotional feel and themes within my video. I would also like to do little doodles over my footage (such as the photo series I created for my song) much like in the style of Tasou.
