Ancillary Texts Second Drafts

After completing my first drafts I added spotify, facebook and other social media logos to the bottom, I also changed the colour of the logos to fit better with my colour scheme. For my digipak I changed the front cover image as I felt the first one didn't fit, this one I've chosen was taken the same time as filming one of my scenes in my video.

Disneyland Trip

For my birthday my parents have booked a last minute trip to disneyland paris, as i need to re shoot some scenes anyway i will be doing so in disneyland to create a more interesting mise-en-scene and video in general, im hoping to have the hands of the person who's point of view the video is to also be filmed as this will create better verisimilitude and continuity of time and space. One shot im hoping to re shoot is the holding hands shot nearer the beginning of my video, however im hoping to shot this down main street USA with the Disney castle in the background. The more happier 'memories' in the video will be shot here as the connotations of disneyland will reflect this. I will also be shooting the airport scenes from my animatic in paris, Charles de gaulle and doncaster robin hood airport. im hoping to get shots of me walking with a suitcase and shots of an airplane in general.

Advert Ancillary drafts

First Draft

Below is my first draft for my magazine advert, after creating this i realised the album title is misplaced and not bold enough and it is missing a release date, website and record label

Second Draft

This draft is older and more conventional, the text stands out better and there is a record label, website URL and release date for the album included thus fitting the conventions

Third draft

This draft is for wither a half or quarter page in a magazine, again it includes all of the conventions and also includes where to buy the album other than the website. I create two with different things in different positions to experiment with my ideas and to see what looked best.

My magazine adverts in context;

To create continuity and verisimilitude i decided to photoshop my adverts actually into magazines and on websites as they would appear in real life.

In kerrang magazine;

In a magazine as a full page and half page;

On the Kerrang! magazine website;

Digipak Draft

How I created my Digipak

First of all I started with initial photos I took at my filming locations and stills from my video to help create a base for the digipak its self, I used a photo from the lyrics analysis i created for the disk for the music video as the lyrics on the image link with the music video.

Secondly I started adding the text, i chose to do all the text in black and white and handwritten to resume the continuity within the music video, I did this by handwriting what i wanted onto a piece pf paper and the scanning it in and placing it onto my digipak using the magic wand tool (step by step on how i did this below)

After adding the text I also added logos such as the record label and the barcode to fit the conventions of a digipak

After looking at the above digipak I realised there was something missing therefore I decided to add a beige colour to the background of my cd/dvd compartment, I chose this colour so it would fit with my overall colour scheme.
